It has been 16 years since Jason Mesnick and Molly Mesnick found love on The Bachelor, and they are still deeply in love to this day. Recently, amidst their romantic journey, the couple took the time to upgrade their family home.
“I always had a vision of building a custom home,” Molly, 41, shared exclusively with Us Weekly, reflecting on her real estate background and passion for interior design. “Jason and I owned a rental property nearby and decided it was the perfect spot to turn that dream into reality. I spent a year sitting at our kitchen table, mapping out our floor plan in detail, envisioning how each space would be utilized.”
The following year, Molly handed her DIY floor plan to an architect, who demolished the existing property to start fresh and help bring her vision to life. “Building a custom home was one of the most challenging projects I’ve ever undertaken, but I feel a great sense of accomplishment walking through the house, knowing I did it all myself,” Molly shared about the completed project. “It has been a rewarding experience, and I would love to do it again as I’ve gained so much knowledge that would make the process smoother next time.”
After a two-year construction process, Molly and Jason, 48, finally settled into their dream home. “We just returned from a vacation, and upon entering the house, I told Jason, ‘I absolutely adore this home with all my heart,'” Molly expressed. “It truly exceeds all my expectations. I love spending time here, hosting guests, and our entire family feels the same way.”
Molly is a mother to daughter Riley, 12, from her relationship with Jason and stepmother to his 20-year-old son, Ty, from a previous marriage. “I constantly remind Riley how fortunate we are to have this home, especially her own space,” Molly shared with Us. “Ty was away at college during most of the construction, so his reaction upon returning home was priceless. We were all thrilled to see the project come to fruition after years of hard work.”
