A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for Jake Sendler, an Australian mixed-martial arts fighter who tragically passed away from a muscle condition following a high-intensity workout. Nicknamed a “true warrior” and a “beloved son,” the 21-year-old fighter succumbed to rhabdomyolysis, a rare muscle injury, after being placed in an induced coma and undergoing multiple surgeries. The Sendler family is seeking donations to cover funeral expenses and medical costs, as well as to raise awareness about rhabdomyolysis. Jake’s loved ones remember him not just as a fighter in the MMA ring, but as a compassionate coach, dedicated athlete, and a source of unwavering support and positivity for those around him. The fundraiser has garnered over $37,000 AUD towards their goal.
