SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The San Francisco Giants have confirmed that Major League Baseball is investigating claims of abuse made by the wife of reliever Sean Hjelle. In a post on TikTok, Caroline Hjelle shared a video with their two children, expressing her frustration about her husband’s alleged abandonment on Mother’s Day, as well as his infidelity and abusive behavior. The Giants released a statement acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations and stated that MLB is handling the matter. Manager Bob Melvin mentioned that Hjelle would still be available to pitch in the game against the Boston Red Sox, but deferred further comments to MLB as the situation is under their jurisdiction. Despite taking a loss in the recent game against the Red Sox, Hjelle has a record of 1-1 with a 4.66 ERA in six appearances this season. For more on MLB news, visit https://apnews.com/hub/MLB.
