Capital One is currently addressing a technical issue that impacted numerous customers who reported problems with direct deposits on Thursday. According to Down Detector, an online service that monitors tech outages, more than 2,000 individuals had encountered difficulties with Capital One banking as of Thursday morning. However, the situation showed signs of improvement later in the day, with the number of outage reports from Capital One users decreasing to just over 1,700 by 4:10 p.m. Eastern Time.
Expressing frustration over the disruption, one social media user directed a message to Capital One’s customer service account, stating, “Some of us have bills to pay and groceries to buy. At least keep us in the loop.” Another individual voiced concern about the status of business checking accounts, sharing, “Customer service told me everything should be working in about 2 hours and it’s going on 3.”
In response to the issue, Capital One issued an apology to customers on social media, assuring them that the bank is actively collaborating with the vendor to resolve the problem and restore services.
The incident highlights the importance of addressing and resolving technical challenges promptly to minimize disruptions for customers and maintain trust in financial institutions.
