Minnesota Maine Coon Cats’ Record-Breaking Tail Stuns Judges!

Often dubbed as the kings of the domestic cat world, Maine Coon cats are beloved for their majestic appearance and human-like traits, as well as their knack for setting world records, especially in terms of their remarkable size. Witnessing the sheer magnitude of these felines makes it evident why they hold a larger-than-life status in the feline kingdom. Meet Mr. Pugsley Addams, a grumpy-looking Maine Coon cat who has recently clinched the Guinness World Record for possessing the ‘longest tail on a living domestic cat,’ measuring over a whopping 18 inches long!

Hailing from Minnesota, this furry celebrity is well-aware of his prestigious standing both at home and within his local community, much to the astonishment of his family. Pugsley is a prime example of the substantial size that Maine Coon cats can attain, as they also hold records for the longest cat ever recorded and the longest whiskers on record. It’s clear that this particular breed has a knack for setting records, a fact that Pugsley himself seems to take in stride.

Pugsley’s owner, Amanda, noted, “I definitely think he is aware of his long tail. It does get in the way, especially when he is excited, and it is standing straight up when I’m trying to feed him, and so it’s in my face.” Despite the occasional inconvenience caused by his impressively lengthy tail, it remains a cherished part of Pugsley that his family holds dear.

Excitingly, Pugsley may have even more record-breaking achievements in store, as he is a mere two years old, and Maine Coons can continue growing until they reach four or five years of age. With their plush tails serving various purposes, such as providing warmth and comfort, Pugsley is well-equipped to tackle the chilly Minnesota winters.

An endearing and mischievous feline, Pugsley embodies his namesake inspired by the Addams Family, while also living up to his status as a record-holder. Undoubtedly, Pugsley is a truly extraordinary cat in every sense of the word!
