Mekhi Becton Joins Chargers After Super Bowl Victory!

After a successful season with the Philadelphia Eagles that included winning the Super Bowl, a career resurgence, and a switch to a new position, offensive lineman Mekhi Becton is making a change. The Los Angeles Chargers have confirmed that they have signed Becton to a two-year deal, as reported by ESPN. Becton had a standout season in 2024 while playing under a one-year, $2.75 million contract.

Initially drafted as the 11th overall pick by the New York Jets in 2020 as a projected left tackle, Becton struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter due to injuries, missing almost all games in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. However, his time with the Eagles and the guidance of offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland saw Becton excel at right guard, contributing to the team’s success as the reigning champions with one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. He started 15 games during the regular season and played in all four playoff victories.

Standing at 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 363 pounds, Becton is known as one of the most physically dominant linemen in the league. Expected to join Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt on the Chargers’ offensive line, Becton is likely to secure a guard position under the leadership of Jim Harbaugh.
