Scottie Scheffler’s deep Texas roots shine through in this year’s special surprise at the Champions Dinner. Scheffler is sticking with what he knows and likes, as evident in his chosen menu that pays homage to his home state.
This year’s feast kicks off with cheeseburger sliders “Scottie-style” and firecracker shrimp served with a sweet Thai chili sauce and sriracha mayo. The main course features a Texas-style chili topped with Cheddar cheese and jalapeños, a slight departure from Scheffler’s previous chicken tortilla soup offering. For the entrees, champions can choose between a wood-fired cowboy ribeye or blackened redfish. Sides are hearty and include mac and cheese and jalapeño creamed corn. To cap off the meal, diners will enjoy a warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla bean ice cream.
A surprising addition to this year’s menu is Papa Scheff’s Meatball & Ravioli Bites, a departure from the Tex-Mex theme. This dish was included as a nod to a mishap earlier in the year when Scheffler injured himself while preparing homemade ravioli with a wine glass. The defending Masters champion handpicks the menu for this exclusive, invitation-only event. Here’s to a successful April dinner without any kitchen accidents!
