Masters Welcomes Lucas Glover, Justin Rose + More!

Former U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover secured a spot in the 2025 Masters tournament after clinching the No. 50 position in the Official World Golf Ranking at the conclusion of the 2024 season. Glover was among the ten players newly added to the Masters field, a confirmation that came on Monday following the final update of the Official World Golf Ranking for 2024. The esteemed major competition, held at Augusta National Golf Club, extends invitations to the top 50 players in the world ranking by the end of the year, as well as to those individuals who are ranked in the top 50 a week prior to the tournament if they have not already been invited.

Despite recently slipping outside the top 50, the 45-year-old Glover managed to reclaim the No. 50 spot precisely on Monday. Notably, Glover’s most significant golfing accomplishment to date remains his 2009 victory at the U.S. Open, with his best finish at Augusta being tied for 20th place.

Joining Glover in the qualification on Monday were Tom Kim of South Korea (No. 21), Nick Dunlap (No. 32), Max Greyserman (No. 35), Jason Day of Australia (No. 37), Rasmus Hojgaard of Denmark (No. 39), Corey Conners of Canada (No. 41), Denny McCarthy (No. 44), Justin Rose of England (No. 46), and Min Woo Lee of Australia (No. 49). Rose, aged 44, clinched the U.S. Open title in 2013 and notably finished second at the Masters in both 2015 and 2017. Day, a past major champion having won the 2015 PGA Championship, also secured his qualification for the Masters.

The Masters tournament now counts 85 players in its field as of the Monday announcement. In the 2024 edition, the field included 89 players, with Scottie Scheffler emerging victorious and claiming his second green jacket.
