Rio de Janeiro (Reuters) – Thousands gathered on Copacabana Beach to show support for former President Jair Bolsonaro, who faces charges of plotting against the government and democracy after losing the 2022 election. The case will be heard by a five-judge panel at Brazil’s Supreme Court on March 25. Bolsonaro denies the allegations, stating he never supported any movement against democracy. Supporters demand amnesty for those accused of crimes following the inauguration of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Bolsonaro aims to garner direct voter support amid legal challenges, including a ban from running for office until 2030. The Supreme Court has not commented on the matter.
