Married Woman Arrested After Being Found in a Cemetery Tryst

A Florida woman is currently in custody and facing several felony charges following a reported incident in which a member of the Florida Highway Patrol discovered her engaged in sexual activity in a graveyard.

Trooper W.R. Kelly detailed in an incident report that he visited the Wild Cow Cemetery on March 27 to allow his K9 to rest. Upon arrival, he noticed a white Nissan parked with the windows down and no one in close proximity. He then spotted a man and a woman at the rear of the cemetery engaged in sexual activity, as stated in the affidavit.

Two other law enforcement officers also witnessed the couple in question at the scene. Troopers approached the pair for identification since the cemetery was closed at the time. The individuals returned to their vehicle to retrieve clothing, a blanket, and the woman’s ID.

Subsequently, a fourth officer arrived and conducted a search of the vehicle with a K9, which indicated the presence of illicit substances. Methamphetamine, Xanax, and Oxycodone were reportedly found during the search.

The woman, identified as Stephanie Wegman, was taken into custody on the same day and later charged with possession of controlled substances without a prescription as well as trafficking oxycodone. Records show that Wegman had been arrested previously for possession of drug paraphernalia.

She is currently held without bond and is scheduled for arraignment on May 12. While she has yet to secure legal representation, she has applied for indigent status.

The report mentions that the man accompanying Wegman in the graveyard had to be taken to a local hospital for a pre-existing leg injury. A warrant for his arrest is reportedly being pursued, but it has not been filed as of now.
