Marlins Pitcher Ryan Weathers Sidelined with Forearm Strain!

Miami Marlins pitcher Ryan Weathers will start the season on the injured list due to a left forearm strain, adding to the challenges faced by the team’s starting rotation. Weathers experienced discomfort after his recent spring training outing and will be sidelined from throwing for at least a week or two. Reports suggest he could miss four to six weeks, with a diagnosis of a mild flexor strain but no damage to his ulnar collateral ligament.

Last season, Weathers posted a 3.63 ERA in 16 starts for Miami. The 25-year-old was slated to be the team’s second starter this year, behind NL Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara. Meanwhile, another Marlins starter, Edward Cabrera, will also be on the injured list due to a blister on his right middle finger.

Weathers has shown promising performances this spring, allowing just one earned run in four starts. The son of former MLB pitcher David Weathers, Ryan has a career record of 10-21 in the majors. The Marlins, in a rebuilding phase, will likely be without outfielder Jesús Sánchez for the early part of the season due to a left oblique strain sustained in spring training.
