An incident involving a man wielding a chainsaw and suspected to have a bomb occurred in Hollingbourne, Kent. Police were called to arrest the man on suspicion of assault. Bodycam footage revealed the man holding what appeared to be an improvised explosive device. A firearm was used by officers to subdue the man, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating the incident, which is not believed to be terrorism-related. The bomb squad rendered a device safe at the scene.
