Two gents have been collared in California following a dispute that flared up while they stood in line to snag Pokémon cards, per the police. On the memorable Saturday, July 5, around 9:22 a.m. local time, the Colma Police Department responded to reports “of a full-on altercation involving multiple folks at GameStop, situated at 4929 Junipero Serra Boulevard,” as per a press release shared on Facebook. “Upon arrival, officers stumbled upon one victim with lacerations to the noggin and numerous stab wounds,” the release detailed. “Officers promptly began administering medical help to the victim on the spot, and he was whisked off to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim is currently in stable condition,” the police added.

Pokémon trading cards are no child’s play, officers noted, hinting at a verbal tiff brewing between the victim and one of the two suspects — a 49-year-old San Francisco resident, Miguel OrellanasFlores — after OrellanasFlores “attempted to jump the queue to grasp Pokémon cards.” The second suspect, a 27-year-old San Francisco resident named Isaiah Calles, also got entangled in the mess. “The spat turned physical when OrellanasFlores clocked the victim at the back of the head with a glass mason jar. The other chap, Calles, then nabbed the jagged glass bits of the mason jar and proceeded to stab the victim multiple times,” police revealed in the release.

The post disclosed, “OrellanasFlores and Calles got collared for assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon causing grave bodily harm, battery with serious bodily harm and conspiracy to commit a crime. Both got hauled off and thrown into the San Mateo County Jail.”

Video footage shared by KRON4 unveiled the ruckus unfolding on the street outside the shop, with one of the men insisting he’d extended an apology before the fight kicked off. Preceding the suspects’ arrest, police shared that they had “both bolted from the scene in two separate vehicles, a Honda, and a Toyota, before officers’ arrival.” “The victim dished out officers with snaps of the suspects’ wheels, which encapsulated the license plates,” the release highlighted.
