LSU Mourns Tragic Loss of Former Receiver Kyren Lacy, 24!

Former LSU football receiver Kyren Lacy was tragically found deceased on Saturday night, as confirmed by LSU’s social media post on Sunday. The cause of the 24-year-old’s passing is currently unknown. LSU expressed their sorrow in a statement, offering thoughts and prayers to Lacy’s family, loved ones, former teammates, and coaches affected by his loss.

Lacy had a standout season, recording 58 catches for 866 yards and seven touchdowns, solidifying his position as a top receiver in college football during his fifth year and third with the Tigers. Following the 2024 season, Lacy faced legal charges including negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run resulting in death, and reckless operation of a vehicle. He surrendered to authorities on Jan. 12, posting a $151,000 bond after being detained.

Louisiana State Police detailed that Lacy was allegedly involved in a reckless driving incident on Louisiana Highway 20, passing multiple vehicles at excessive speed in a no-passing zone before a collision occurred, resulting in a fatality. Lacy’s attorney refuted his involvement in the crash, asserting that Lacy was not at fault and did not contribute to the accident.

Despite the legal issues, Lacy had recently participated in LSU’s pro day in preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft. Originally from Thibodaux, Louisiana, Lacy began his collegiate career at Louisiana before transferring to LSU for his final three seasons. The sudden loss of Kyren Lacy has left the football community mourning the passing of a promising talent.
