London Electrical Substation Fire Forces Heathrow Airport Closure!

A fire at an electrical substation near London’s Heathrow Airport has resulted in the closure of one of the world’s busiest airports. Heathrow Airport announced that the fire at the substation, which provides power to the airport, has led to a “significant power outage,” and the airport is anticipated to remain closed until 11:59 p.m. local time on Friday night. Pat Goulbourne, assistant commissioner of the London Fire Brigade, stated that this is a notable incident and firefighters are working diligently under challenging conditions to control the fire quickly. Crews are still on-site at the fire in #Hayes, urging residents to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke and to avoid the area. The fire has caused a power outage affecting numerous homes and businesses, prompting evacuations. Firefighters safely guided 29 individuals away from adjacent properties and set up a cordon around the area, evacuating approximately 150 people as a precaution.
