Zyaire and Char’les Hawkins are on a mission to inspire young girls to become their own CEOs. They believe that success is rooted in confidence, determination, and a strong work ethic. “Anyone can achieve anything, regardless of age. People often have great ideas that they keep hidden, but if they believe in themselves, they can make those ideas a reality,” shared Char’les.
Their mother jokingly adds, “Just make sure not to burn down the kitchen!”
The Hawkins sisters, who were introduced to baking at a young age by their great grandmother, Faye Vaughn, a well-known restaurateur in Hannibal, Missouri, have turned their passion into a budding business venture. Zyaire reflected on the business side of things, saying, “I’ve learned the importance of connecting with customers, ensuring quality in every aspect such as packaging, and making sure that our deliveries bring happiness and perfection to our customers.”
One of their signature creations is the cheesecake cone, which has garnered attention with the help of a professional branding company that created the logo for their business, “Little Sistas Treats.” The entrepreneurial duo even penned their own catchy jingle: “Little Sistas, we got the cone. Whenever you eat ’em, you’ve got soul.”
Their supportive mother, Marietta Hawkins, who proudly refers to herself as the business “momager,” emphasized the educational aspect of running a business. “I always encourage my kids in their business endeavors. It’s not just about making money; it’s about the valuable lessons learned along the way,” she shared.
Zyaire and Char’les stress the importance of being true to oneself and not following the crowd. “This business isn’t just a passion for us; it’s a dream come true,” expressed Char’les. Their future aspirations include owning a food truck and potentially securing a concession stand at a major venue.
For the Little Sistas, the ultimate goal is to have fun while making a positive impact in their community. “They now realize that they are inspiring others, and I believe that’s the most rewarding aspect. Their business is becoming a source of giving back to the community,” noted Marietta.
