The iHeartRadio Music Awards are approaching, and PEOPLE has the exclusive news that LL Cool J will be returning as the host of the show. LL Cool J expressed his excitement about hosting this year’s awards by stating, “Excited to be back on the iHeartRadio stage to host this year’s awards. It’s going to be a night to remember—big energy, iconic moments, and special collaborations you won’t want to miss.” The 57-year-old previously hosted and performed at the 2022 awards show, treating fans to hits like “Rampage” and “The Boomin System.”
The iHeartRadio Music Awards recognize the musicians and songs that have dominated radio airwaves over the past year and offer a preview of what music trends may look like in 2025. This year’s lineup of performers includes Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, GloRilla, Gracie Abrams, Kenny Chesney, Muni Long, and Nelly, who will kick off his Where the Party At tour following his appearance at the awards show. Nelly will also be honored this year with the 2025 iHeartRadio Landmark Award for his cultural impact through his music releases over multiple decades.
Other notable honorees at this year’s awards show include Lady Gaga, who will receive the 2025 iHeartRadio Innovator Award, and Mariah Carey, who will be presented with the 2025 iHeartRadio Icon Award. Taylor Swift, nominated for 10 awards, will be celebrated for her Eras Tour as the Tour of the Century, with an exclusive performance from the tour’s opening night set to premiere during the show.
Fans can participate in selecting winners by voting in various categories such as favorite soundtrack, best music video, and favorite on-screen moment until March 10th. The awards show will also raise awareness and donations for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires through Fireaidla.org.
The 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on March 17th at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, with live streaming available on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app.
