LeBron James’ Younger Son Commits to University of Arizona Basketball Team!

LeBron James’ youngest son, Bryce James, has officially committed to playing basketball for the University of Arizona. The 17-year-old announced his decision on January 1st through a post on social media, sharing a photo of himself in a University of Arizona basketball uniform on the court with the caption “100% committed🐻.”

Prior to choosing Arizona, Bryce had received offers from several schools, including Ohio State and Duquesne University. Duquesne was the first to reach out to the Sierra Canyon star in August 2022, followed by Ohio State extending an offer in October 2023.

Bryce’s father, LeBron James, took to social media to celebrate his son’s commitment to the Wildcats. Posting the same photo of Bryce, LeBron captioned it with words of pride and support, affectionately calling his son by his middle name: “BEAR DOWN!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS Maximus!!”

Having showcased his skills on the Nike EYBL circuit while playing for the Strive For Greatness grassroots program, Bryce put up solid numbers, averaging 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He also displayed shooting prowess with a 39% field goal percentage and a 36.8% shooting accuracy from beyond the arc.

In December 2022, Bryce signed an NIL contract with Klutch Sports, a sports agency founded by LeBron’s close friend and agent, Rich Paul. Klutch Sports welcomed Bryce with an announcement on social media, marking the beginning of a professional relationship aimed at supporting the young athlete’s career development.

Bryce’s decision to commit to the University of Arizona follows in the footsteps of his older brother, Bronny James, who has already ventured into professional basketball. Bronny, aged 20, made history by going pro last year, becoming part of the first active father-son duo to play together in the NBA and G-League.

The news of Bryce’s commitment to Arizona generated buzz among fans and followers, with many expressing excitement for the next chapter in his basketball journey. As Bryce prepares to embark on his collegiate career with the Wildcats, the basketball world eagerly anticipates witnessing his growth and development on the court.
