Lauren Davis Elevates Music Industry as NYU’s Associate Chair!

Lauren Davis has been promoted to the position of associate chair at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University. She will be working closely with Nick Sansano, who currently serves as the chair of the institute. Davis, a seasoned music attorney, has represented prominent musicians, producers, and publishers. She has been teaching at NYU since 2006 and has actively participated as the faculty senator on NYU’s Faculty Council for six years. Notably, Lauren Davis is the daughter of Clive Davis.

During her time at NYU, Davis has primarily taught legal and business aspects of the music industry to college students. She has also given lectures on topics such as social entrepreneurship and promoting equity and inclusion in music. Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Davis stated, “It’s been an honor to educate and mentor the next generation of music industry leaders over the past 18 years. I am thrilled to collaborate with Nick and contribute to the growth and development of the Clive Davis Institute moving forward.”

In other news, Audius has recently finalized a multi-territory licensing agreement with International Enterprise (ICE), enabling more than 330,000 rights holders to receive royalties when their music is used on Audius across various regions, including sub-Saharan Africa and Asia Pacific.

Furthermore, the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation disclosed that Warner Music Latina will sponsor the Prodigy Scholarship for a bachelor’s degree at Berklee College of Music. The Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation is currently welcoming applications for its 2025 scholarships, intended for music students aged between 17 and 25 who have a deep-rooted love for Latin music but face financial constraints. The deadline for submitting applications is April 10.
