Lauren Davis has been promoted to the position of associate chair at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University. She will be working closely with Nick Sansano, who currently serves as the chair of the institute. Davis, a seasoned music attorney, has represented prominent musicians, producers, and publishers. She has been teaching at NYU since 2006 and has actively participated as the faculty senator on NYU’s Faculty Council for six years. Notably, Lauren Davis is the daughter of Clive Davis.
During her time at NYU, Davis has primarily taught legal and business aspects of the music industry to college students. She has also given lectures on topics such as social entrepreneurship and promoting equity and inclusion in music. Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Davis stated, “It’s been an honor to educate and mentor the next generation of music industry leaders over the past 18 years.
