Kristen Doute, the reality TV star who is expecting her first baby, already had her daughter’s name chosen before she found out about her pregnancy. At the season 2 premiere of The Valley on Thursday, April 10, in Sherman Oaks, Calif., Doute, 42, shared with PEOPLE that she and her boyfriend Luke Broderick have finalized the name for their daughter.
“We had her name picked out even before we conceived, and we made sure it felt right when we revisited it,” Doute revealed. “We’ve been calling her by name, especially Luke from the start.”
Initially, Doute found it strange when Luke used their daughter’s name, feeling like he was talking to a plant, anticipating her growth. “It felt surreal because she wasn’t here yet!” she laughed. “But now, it feels like she’s a real baby, just waiting to enter the world,” the mom-to-be added.
In November, Doute shared her pregnancy news exclusively with PEOPLE after undergoing an IUI procedure. The couple eagerly awaited the pregnancy test results, and when Doute saw the positive sign, she felt a mix of relief, excitement, and nervousness.
In December, Doute disclosed that they are expecting a baby girl, a surprise for her as she was convinced it would be a boy. She expressed her excitement about expanding their family and becoming parents.
