Kiwi Cricketer Phillips Ruled Out of IPL Season!

Glenn Phillips, the batter from New Zealand playing for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League, has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a groin injury. He sustained the injury while fielding as a substitute during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6. The IPL announced on Saturday that Phillips has returned to New Zealand. He did not get a chance to play in any of the five games for Gujarat this season. Phillips is the second overseas player from the team to leave early, following South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada, who departed on April 3 for personal reasons. It is uncertain when Rabada will rejoin the squad. Gujarat Titans, currently tied at the top with Delhi Capitals, have won four out of five games, accumulating eight points. Overseas players Jos Buttler, Rashid Khan, and Sherfane Rutherford have featured for Gujarat this season, along with Gerald Coetzee from South Africa and Karim Janat from Afghanistan.
