Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman made it clear on Sunday that she has no intentions of running for Senator Mitch McConnell’s seat. During an interview on “The Hill Sunday,” she responded to questions about the possibility of her or the governor entering the race, firmly stating her focus on her responsibilities at home and her disdain for the behavior of some politicians in Washington, likening it to dealing with a 5-year-old.
McConnell has previously stated his plans to complete his term, which ends in early 2027. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader John Thune now holds McConnell’s previous position, often attracting criticism from Democrats.
Governor Andy Beshear, known for his success in a Republican-leaning state, has gained national attention. Coleman also highlighted her concerns about the Trump administration’s moves to dismantle the Department of Education, emphasizing the importance of investing in education and supporting families in need.
