Jordan’s King Rejects Trump’s Plan to Resettle Palestinians

Following a meeting with President Trump at the White House, King Abdullah of Jordan publicly opposed Trump’s proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank to other countries, including Jordan. The King emphasized Jordan’s commitment to the Arab stance against displacing Palestinians, stating that rebuilding Gaza and addressing its humanitarian crisis should take precedence over relocation efforts. Despite Trump’s insistence on his plan during the meeting, which could potentially breach international law, King Abdullah maintained his position. The UN has warned against forced displacement of civilians from occupied territories, calling it “ethnic cleansing.” Trump’s proposal, which includes potentially involving Egypt, has faced criticism globally, with the King and other Arab states working on an alternative governance plan for Gaza.

In a recent announcement, it was stated that the two million residents of town A would be relocated and would not have the right to return to their original homes. The justification given was that they would have access to superior housing options in their new location. The official proposing this plan emphasized the intention to create a lasting and secure settlement for those affected.
