Johnny Depp Radiates Joy at London Premiere of Modi – His First Film!

Actor Johnny Depp attended the London red carpet premiere of his latest film “Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness.” The biopic, directed by Depp, portrays Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani in 1916 Paris and features Riccardo Scamarcio as the titular artist. Co-starring in the film are Al Pacino, Antonia Desplat, and Stephen Graham.

Depp, age 62, made his appearance at The Curzon Mayfair in London on July 8, donning his trademark sunglasses and scarf paired with a sleek all-black ensemble. This film marks Depp’s return to directing after a 20-year hiatus, with his last directorial effort being 1997’s “The Brave.”

The story revolves around Modigliani’s life and artistic struggles in war-torn Paris during World War I. The trailer, released in October 2024, delves into the turbulent art scene of the era, with Pacino’s character challenging Modigliani’s perception of artistry and painting.

Depp expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew for their dedication in bringing this project to fruition, particularly acknowledging Pacino’s influence in inspiring him to direct the film. Pacino, in turn, praised Depp’s creativity and highlighted the enjoyable experience of collaborating with him on set.

Depp also reflected on his personal connection to Modigliani’s story during a press conference, drawing parallels to his own life experiences. He further shared details about his upcoming projects, including the film “Day Drinker” alongside Penélope Cruz and Madelyn Cline.

“Modi” is set to premiere in theaters in 2025 following its debuts at the San Sebastián and Rome Film Festivals.
