Jersey Shore Couple Shot by Neighbor in Ongoing Feud! Wife Desperately Calls 911, ‘I’m Bleeding!’

A shooting incident in Berkeley Township, New Jersey, prompted a swift response from a SWAT team on Monday. The altercation between neighboring families at Jersey Shore culminated in a tragic turn of events, leaving a husband and wife hospitalized in critical condition and another man deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The tumultuous events transpired around 4:45 p.m. in Berkeley Township, New Jersey. Authorities were summoned to a residence on Drake Drive, where they discovered the injured couple, as reported by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office in a press release. A distressing 911 call obtained by NBC New York captured the woman’s urgent plea for assistance, revealing the severity of the situation.

The woman implored the dispatcher, “My neighbor. We were shot by our neighbor. Please hurry!” she cried out. She expressed concern for her husband’s well-being and the excruciating pain in her own leg. Desperate for swift intervention, she emphasized the urgency of the situation, fearing for her life.

The ongoing dispute between the couple and their neighbor, identified as John Adamo, 54, had spanned several years, according to NBC New York. The couple had taken precautions by installing security cameras and displaying a sign prohibiting trespassing on their property. Despite previous police interventions at the residence, the escalation of the feud remains unclear.

Following the shooting, Adamo retreated to his home, prompting the deployment of the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team and a crisis negotiation unit. After an intense standoff lasting approximately two and a half hours, SWAT personnel breached Adamo’s residence, as depicted in video footage aired by NBC New York.

Tragically, Adamo was discovered deceased in an upstairs bedroom, with indications suggesting a self-inflicted gunshot wound, as per the official statement. Although a pressure cooker was found in his room, it was determined to be non-explosive. Meanwhile, the injured couple was airlifted to a hospital in Neptune, New Jersey, where they remained in critical but stable condition.
