Iran’s Show of Force War Games Ahead of Trump’s Second Term!

Dr. Yasser Ershadmanesh, a conservative analyst teaching at the University of Law and International Relations in Tehran, expressed to CBS News the necessity for the IRGC to conduct a military drill to demonstrate Iran’s preparedness across all domains. He highlighted the pressure exerted by Israel and its Western allies on Tehran, describing it as an imminent threat and emphasized the importance of the drill in showcasing Iran’s readiness to counter any potential aggression. Concerns are raised about the incoming President, Donald Trump, potentially escalating pressure through economic sanctions and supporting military actions against Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s recent address indicated a readiness for heightened tensions with the U.S. and a reluctance to engage in negotiations. He attributed Iran’s stance to historical grievances with the U.S. since the Islamic Revolution, contrasting it with relations with European countries.

Iran’s ongoing military exercise, named “Great Prophet 19,” includes a simulation of an aerial assault on the Natanz nuclear facility to test Iran’s air defense systems. The exercise involves air, ground, and sea forces utilizing domestically produced weapons systems, including the Dezful surface-to-air missile system. The drills aim to assess Iran’s defense capabilities and readiness.

The Trump administration is reportedly contemplating preemptive airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, amid Iran’s increased nuclear enrichment activities following the U.S.’s withdrawal from the international nuclear deal. The exercise also addresses the potential threat of electronic warfare, as stated by IRGC spokesman Brigadier Gen. Ali Mohammad Naeini.

In another development, Trump has expressed intentions to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America.”
