Indiana Inmate Vanishes from Work Crew! Police Seek Public’s Help

Authorities in Jackson County are on high alert after a daring escape by an inmate from Edinburgh Correctional Facility. Michael D. Anderson, 21, walked away from a work detail near Vallonia Tree Nursery on March 19, prompting a search effort in the area of Starve Hollow.
Anderson, serving a three-year sentence for burglary in Lake County, is described as a 5-foot-8-inch Black male with multiple tattoos including a rose on his hand, a crown on his arm, and a Chicago Bulls logo on his leg. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, yellow pants, a Carhartt-style jacket, and an orange hat, possibly with long john underwear.
Authorities urge residents to lock their doors as they continue the search for Anderson. If spotted, the public is advised to call 911 immediately. Contact local police with any information that may assist in locating the missing inmate.
