Grace Kaage, a resident of Chicago, maintains that she is not one to raise her voice in frustration. She values the opportunity for her children to learn from their actions and wants them to feel at ease approaching her even when they make mistakes. “He truly did not comprehend that he was acting inappropriately. It may be common sense for adults, but for a 2-year-old like him, it’s a whole different story,” Kaage explains. She goes on to share a similar incident involving her 4-year-old daughter, Soren, when she was the same age as her son, Christian.
Recalling the incident, Kaage mentions, “She once decided to decorate our walls with various markers. We handled the situation in a similar manner, and she never repeated the act.” For those interested, the Kaage family’s white sofas have been restored to their original spotless condition – and yes, Christian lent a hand in the cleanup process!
“I’m thrilled to report that we successfully removed every last trace of red Sharpie from our white couches,” Kaage excitedly shared in an Instagram post, providing additional insights into her stain protection methods and cleaning routine. Reflecting on the ordeal, she admits, “Dealing with the Sharpie incident was quite nerve-wracking as I had never encountered such a situation before. I’m immensely relieved that we were able to resolve it. Nevertheless, in the grand scheme of things, it’s just furniture.”
