Tragic Incident: Miami Bus Driver Fatally Shoots Two Passengers
In a devastating event, two individuals lost their lives after reportedly being shot by a Miami-Dade Transit bus driver following an altercation early on Sunday morning. The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 30, when a dispute erupted between the driver and passengers, culminating in the driver allegedly discharging his firearm multiple times inside the bus, as stated by the Miami Gardens police during a press briefing.
The two victims were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where they tragically succumbed to their injuries. Witnesses like Guilleume Lageur, who was in close proximity to the scene, described hearing the altercation escalate before gunshots rang out, expressing shock at the possibility of bus drivers carrying weapons. Another local resident known as Wave God recounted hearing six shots while returning from a nearby store, emphasizing the senselessness of the violence that took place.
According to a spokesperson from Miami-Dade’s Department of Transportation and Public Works, bus drivers are not permitted to carry guns for self-defense, underscoring that such actions are prohibited.
