Firehouse Subs has teamed up with the social media talk show “Hot Ones” to introduce a new range of incredibly spicy sub sandwiches. Host of “Hot Ones,” Sean Evans, expressed to USA TODAY that the partnership felt like a natural fit. Evans mentioned how many firefighters have shared with him their experiences of doing the Hot Ones Challenge at the firehouse, and he found it fitting that Firehouse Subs, with their lineup of hot sauces, would collaborate with their show.
The “Hot Ones” show began on YouTube in 2015 and has become a popular internet celebrity talk show hosted by Evans. In each episode, Evans and his guests tackle 10 chicken wings coated in increasingly spicy hot sauce. The show has featured notable celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence, Bill Murray, and Lady Gaga.
This collaboration has resulted in the introduction of two new sandwiches at Firehouse Subs: the Spicy Dill Hook & Ladder and the Zesty Garlic Hook & Ladder. These sandwiches are based on Firehouse Subs’ classic sandwich and incorporate official “Hot Ones” hot sauce.
The Spicy Dill Hook & Ladder includes smoked turkey, honey ham, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, deli mustard, Firehouse Hero Hot Sauce, and Hot Ones’ The Last Dab Reaper Edition. On the other hand, the Zesty Garlic Hook & Ladder consists of smoked turkey, honey ham, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, garlic chips, mayo, and Hot Ones’ The Classic Garlic Fresno hot sauce.
The Last Dab Reaper Edition hot sauce is made with Carolina Reaper peppers, while the Classic Garlic Fresno hot sauce contains Fresno chile pepper. Evans mentioned that the Spicy Dill Hook & Ladder rates as a 10 out of 10 in spiciness due to The Last Dab Reaper Edition, which is the hottest sauce featured on Hot Ones. In contrast, the Zesty Garlic Hook & Ladder is rated a two or three out of 10 on the spiciness scale.
As an additional treat, Firehouse Subs will offer a dill pickle infused with Hot Ones The Last Dab XXX Hot Sauce. This unique pickle, consumed as the 10th hot sauce on “Hot Ones,” promises a challenging experience even for those accustomed to spicy foods.
Through this collaboration, Firehouse Subs aims to provide customers with a fiery culinary experience inspired by the popular “Hot Ones” show.
