Homan’s Bold Defense Mistaken Deportation Was the Right Call!

Border czar Tom Homan is standing by the Trump administration’s decision regarding a Maryland man mistakenly deported to El Salvador, despite the recent Supreme Court ruling that mandates the U.S. to ensure his return. In an interview on Newsmax, Homan reiterated the administration’s stance, stating that he believed they made the correct choice. He pointed out that the man in question is an MS-13 gang member and had been removed from El Salvador due to fear of gang violence. While acknowledging the Supreme Court’s directive to facilitate the man’s return, Homan emphasized that since he is an El Salvadoran national in the custody of the El Salvadoran government, the administration will assist where possible but maintains that their decision was justified.

The Supreme Court’s ruling ordered the administration to facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was wrongly deported under President Trump’s immigration policies. The White House responded by stating that it is their responsibility to facilitate the return, not execute it. The court also directed the administration to outline the steps it will take to facilitate Abrego Garcia’s return. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis criticized the Department of Justice for seeking more time to comply with the court’s order, emphasizing that the deportation was illegal from the start.

Despite admitting the wrongful deportation, the Trump administration argued that the courts lack jurisdiction as the man is under the custody of El Salvador. Trump stated that he would adhere to the Supreme Court’s decision, respecting its authority. This development followed the court’s approval of the administration’s use of the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to expedite deportations.
