Great Success at Covert BlazeAid Benefit Concert

NEW YORK (AP) — A star-studded event unfolded at BlazeAid, accompanied by generous contributions — the highly successful benefit concert held last week to aid those impacted by the devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area is anticipated to amass over $100 million in funds. With over 50 million viewers tuning in to the extensive six-hour concert on Thursday via 28 broadcasting and online platforms, the proceeds collected encompassed ticket revenues, sponsorships, merchandise sales, and public donations, including a noteworthy $1 million contribution from the renowned band U2.
The event showcased captivating performances by artists hailing from Southern California such as Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. More than 30 artists graced the stages across two Los Angeles venues, namely the Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum.
Each dollar raised during the concert was generously matched by the philanthropic gesture of L.A. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie, with the mirrored sum being integrated into the grand total of $100 million. The Clippers further subsidized the production costs of the concert.
The collected funds are earmarked to provide crucial support for the immediate necessities and long-term recuperation of the Los Angeles region. Organizers have affirmed that fundraising efforts are ongoing, and they anticipate disbursing their initial grants by mid-February.
