‘Gone Girl’ Kidnapping Suspect Facing Fresh Charges!

Huskins, then 29 years old, reappeared unscathed two days after her disappearance, outside her father’s residence in Huntington Beach, a city located in Southern California. She claimed to have been dropped off at that location. Her return took place mere hours before the ransom deadline. On the same day, Vallejo law enforcement, during a press briefing, stated that no evidence of a kidnapping had been uncovered. They went on to accuse Huskins and Quinn of fabricating the abduction, igniting an extensive search effort.

Following Huskins’ release, Vallejo police initially drew parallels between her ordeal and the plot of “Gone Girl,” a popular book and movie where a woman vanishes only to falsely claim abduction upon her return. However, this theory was abandoned when Muller was apprehended by Dublin, California authorities for a similar home intrusion. The investigators connected Muller to the case through a cellphone that was traced back to him. Subsequent searches of a vehicle and a residence yielded incriminating evidence, including a computer stolen from Quinn, solidifying the link between the disbarred lawyer and the abduction.
