The two had worked together on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In in the late ’60s.
“My dear Ruthie, your absence is deeply painful,” expressed Hawn, 79, in a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday. “I will always cherish our daily conversations, how we could talk endlessly, even after long days. You were not just a friend, but my steadfast companion through life’s highs and lows. Your ability to make me laugh like no one else was truly special,” the actress from Overboard added, describing her late friend as “exceptionally talented.”
Hawn reflected on Buzzi as a unique soul who brought immense joy and light to the world. She reminisced about the deep, joyful laughter they shared, particularly during their time on Laugh-In, noting that those memories will forever hold a special place in her heart. The post was accompanied by a black-and-white photo of the two actresses from their time on the show.
“I love you. May you find peace and embark on beautiful journeys in the company of angels. ❤️,” concluded the touching tribute.
In the wake of the loss, Hawn received support from various celebrity friends and family members, including a heartfelt comment from her daughter Kate Hudson, who shared, “❤️🕊️❤️,” on the post. Demi Moore also joined in with a similar message of support through emojis.
