Pavel Dorofeyev, the top goal scorer for the Vegas Golden Knights this season with 35 goals, will miss Thursday night’s Game 6 in Minnesota due to an undisclosed injury. Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed that Dorofeyev is day to day and will be replaced by Victor Olofsson, who scored 15 goals this season and will also take over on the power play.
Cassidy expressed confidence in Olofsson’s abilities, stating, “We’ve got lots of guys in the lineup that can do it. We’ll miss him, obviously, but we weren’t overly reliant on one player anyway.” Dorofeyev sustained the injury during the Golden Knights’ recent win over the Wild and was part of the top line with Jack Eichel and William Karlsson. Mark Stone will now fill in on that line alongside Eichel.
With a 3-2 series lead, the Golden Knights aim to close out the first-round Western Conference series. Should the Wild emerge victorious, Game 7 is scheduled for Saturday in Las Vegas.
