Girl Scout Cookie Season Begins Today! 2 Flavors Retiring!

Girl Scout Cookie season for 2025 has officially commenced, as Girl Scouts across the country launched their cookie sales on Tuesday, January 7th. In an exclusive announcement to PEOPLE, it was revealed that two popular flavors, Girl Scout S’mores and Toast-Yay!, will be discontinued after this year and will not be available for the 2026 cookie season.

Girl Scout S’mores cookies feature graham sandwich cookies with a delectable chocolate and marshmallow filling, while Toast-Yay! cookies are flavored like French toast and coated with icing. These beloved flavors will be making their final appearance this year.

Although fans of Girl Scout cookies will bid farewell to S’mores and Toast-Yay!, they can still enjoy classic favorites such as Thin Mints, Samoas (also known as Caramel deLites), Tagalongs (or Peanut Butter Patties), and other long-standing options. Unfortunately, there are no new cookie introductions for this season, as the Raspberry Rally cookie, which was launched in 2023, has been discontinued.

Raspberry Rally was initially introduced as a “sister cookie” to Thin Mints, exclusively available for purchase online. Due to its popularity, the crispy raspberry-flavored cookie with a chocolate coating quickly sold out on the official Girl Scout website, leading to unauthorized resales on platforms like eBay. This scarcity drove prices up, with single packages fetching over $25 and bundled packages selling for more than $450. The Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) expressed disappointment over these unauthorized resales, emphasizing their commitment to fostering entrepreneurial skills among girls through the cookie program.

The GSUSA’s chief revenue officer, Wendy Lou, highlighted the importance of the Girl Scout Cookie Season as the largest girl-led entrepreneurship initiative globally. Lou emphasized that the tradition provides girls with essential life skills such as goal-setting, money management, teamwork, and decision-making. Each box of cookies sold contributes to a girl’s development as a confident leader, enabling the funding of exciting opportunities for girls and their troops throughout the year.

Girl Scout Cookie season typically runs from January to April, with timing and availability varying by location. To locate a cookie booth in your vicinity, you can visit girlscoutcookies.org or text COOKIES to 59618 for further details. Additionally, customers will have the option to purchase cookies online for direct shipment without going through a familiar Girl Scout starting on February 21st.

The launch of the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie season marks the beginning of a time-honored tradition that not only satisfies cookie cravings but also empowers girls to develop valuable skills for their futures.
