Get ready for a wild ride A weather ‘rollercoaster’ is barreling towards the Northeast as snow force

The wintry mix and rain that is currently sweeping across the Northeast is expected to persist throughout Monday, with another bout of inclement weather on the horizon for later in the week, according to meteorologists. The majority of the region will witness wintry precipitation transitioning into intermittent rain as temperatures gradually rise during the day on Monday, as stated by AccuWeather. Following a brief period of milder weather, another series of storms is predicted to impact the area.

AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham described the upcoming weather forecast for the Northeast as a “roller-coaster ride,” emphasizing the potential for a significant storm bringing accumulating snow and frigid temperatures towards the end of the week and into the weekend. While the rain expected to fall across the Mississippi and Tennessee valleys extending into the mid-Atlantic states and southern New England will offer some relief from drought conditions in parts of the Northeast, there is also a possibility of flash flood warnings, as highlighted in the forecast. Buckingham also cautioned about the potential development of a snowstorm along the East coast on Friday and Saturday.

Recent developments have seen the closure of some schools in western Massachusetts and Connecticut on Monday, with others opening later than usual due to snowfall. In areas as far south as Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia, residents woke up to snow on Monday, underscoring the unpredictable nature of the weather patterns. Travel conditions could become hazardous due to the wintry mix in the East, while reports confirmed a tornado in California.

AccuWeather has indicated that details regarding the weekend storms are yet to be fully disclosed, with the anticipated storm track likely to influence the upcoming forecast significantly. Buckingham stressed the importance of monitoring the storm’s trajectory, particularly if it veers close to the coast, as it could impact holiday travelers. Following this storm, the Northeast can expect a plunge into “very chilly air” as Christmas Day draws near.

Meanwhile, on the West Coast, an EF-1 tornado caused damage to properties and infrastructure in California, overturning cars and toppling trees. The region could face further severe weather conditions in the coming days, possibly extending into a longer period of adverse weather patterns. AccuWeather meteorologists have warned that certain areas along the Northwest Coast are likely to experience continuous waves of rain and mountain snow due to the prevailing weather pattern, suggesting the likelihood of additional storms in the near future.

As depicted in this article, the weather forecast for the Northeast appears to be characterized by fluctuations and uncertainties, resembling a “roller-coaster ride” of meteorological events. From snow closures in schools to the potential for impactful storms and the looming threat of flash floods, residents of the affected regions are advised to stay informed and prepared for the dynamic weather conditions ahead.
