George Clinton Sues Ex-Partner for Fraudulent Acquisition of 90 Music Catalogs!

George Clinton was present at a ceremony in Hollywood where he was honored with a star on the Walk of Fame. However, he is currently embroiled in a legal battle with his former business partner, music producer Armen Boladian, over the alleged fraudulent acquisition of rights to almost 90% of his music catalog.

Clinton filed a copyright lawsuit in Florida against Boladian and his entertainment companies, accusing them of manipulating contracts and adding fictitious songwriters to claim ownership of Clinton’s work. Despite multiple attempts to reach Boladian’s representatives for comment, they have not responded.

The lawsuit details the history of Clinton and Boladian’s partnership, which dates back to the late 1960s. Boladian is known in the music industry for filing lawsuits against artists for copyright infringement while allegedly withholding royalties from Clinton.

The legal dispute between Clinton and Boladian has been ongoing for decades, with Clinton claiming that Boladian has stolen his copyrights. The lawsuit also suggests a racial component to Boladian’s actions, alleging that he targeted Black artists whom he believed lacked understanding of copyright laws.

Clinton is seeking a jury trial to address the alleged fraud and economic harm he has suffered. Despite their long history of legal battles, Clinton has previously defeated a defamation lawsuit brought by Boladian in 2021.
