Generous Benefit Event Raises $1.2 Million for Victims of D.C. Plane Crash

In a heartwarming display of support, a fundraising figure skating event in Washington has collected $1.2 million for the victims of the recent plane crash in the nation’s capital. Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the organizers, revealed that the Legacy on Ice show, held on Sunday, drew a sold-out crowd of over 15,000 attendees, with more donations anticipated in the coming weeks. The event, which featured notable skaters such as Johnny Weir and Amber Glenn, paid tribute to the 67 individuals who tragically lost their lives in the accident, including 28 members of the skating community. Reflecting on the immense tragedy, Monumental chairman Ted Leonsis expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of compassion and pledged to continue supporting the victims, their families, and the brave first responders. The event, filled with emotional performances and heartfelt tributes, showcased the resilience and unity of the community in the face of adversity.
