Emilia Brangefalt, a 21-year-old Swedish runner who was recently diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia, has taken her own life.

The talented long-distance runner won a bronze medal at the 2022 Trail World Championships 40km race in Chiang Mai and placed fifth at this year's world championships in Innsbruck, but was forced to take a break from the sport after she was recently diagnosed with a heart rate that was too high.

"It hurts me" On November 4, Brangefalt posted on his Instagram account, "Just walking is causing me so much pain.

I went to the hospital and did more than 20 blood tests/ecg/bicycle tests, and although they all came back normal, I can't get rid of the stress I'm under," he wrote.
