The Facebook founder's complex, dubbed Koolau Ranch, is already partially built out and is shaping up to be one of the most expensive personal construction projects in modern history, according to a Wired investigation based on property records and interviews with contractors.

5 THOUSAND SQUARE METRES OF UNDERGROUND SHELTER The compound on the island of Kauai will consist of more than a dozen buildings, with two central mansions that will be connected by a tunnel leading to a 5,000-square-metre underground bunker with a stairway-accessible escape hatch, Wired reported, citing building plans.

According to plans reviewed by the publication, the resort will have at least 30 bedrooms and 30 bathrooms, and will also include guest houses and a group of 11 "disc-shaped" tree houses connected by rope bridges. The underground bunker will include a living area and mechanical room and will feature "blast-resistant" concrete and a steel door, Wired reported.

30 BED ORIENTATED GIANT BUNKER According to the construction documents, other exits and entrances in the campus buildings will have keypad-locked and soundproofed doors, while the library will have a hidden or "blind" door.

THE FARM IS MONITORED BY MORE THAN 20 CAMERAS Cameras are already "everywhere" according to one worker, and plans show that a smaller farm building alone has more than 20 cameras, the technology publication reported.

Koolau Ranch has yet another feature that suggests the Meta CEO may be planning some kind of apocalypse. According to Wired's sources and construction plans, the builders hope to make it completely self-sufficient. A water tank measuring 55 feet in diameter and 18 feet in height and a pump system will be located on land where existing farming and agriculture on the 1,400-acre property already provides a food source.

ZUCKERBERG SIGNS CONTRACT FOR WORK CARRIED OUT IN SECRET According to Wired, Zuckerberg built a 6-metre wall around the compound and made all contract employees, regardless of level or involvement, sign NDAs regarding their work on the property.

A spokesperson for Zuckerberg told Wired that the billionaire spent $170 million to buy the land to build his farm, which his wife and children consider their family home.
