Humane, founded by former Apple employees, introduced its first device "AI Pin". Introduced as a wearable, screenless device equipped with artificial intelligence, AI Pin, a brand new technology, has the potential to change our understanding of phones.

The development of wearable technologies and artificial intelligence has led tech giants to come up with interesting products. Humane, a company founded by former Apple employees, was one of them. Humane announced that it will release a screenless device called "AI Pin" later this year.

The company officially unveiled AI Pin in the evening, following information leaked by The Verge today. The device, which will act as a wearable, screenless phone, could revolutionize mobile devices if successful.

In fact, Humane doesn't exactly describe its product as a phone. Instead, it uses the phrase "a completely separate device and software platform" developed with artificial intelligence. In fact, the name "AI Pin" and its design do not look much like a phone. This product, which does not resemble a smartphone with its technical features, will nevertheless offer a smartphone-like experience.

AI Pin, which we can also describe as a voice AI assistant equipped with phone features, comes with a square device and battery that can be magnetically attached to your clothes or other surfaces, as in the information leaked by The Verge.

The device itself weighs 34 grams, while the second part, which the company describes as a "battery booster", weighs 20 grams. With the battery booster, AI Pin's battery life can increase up to one day. Let's add that the battery booster powers the small battery inside the AI Pin, thus achieving longer battery life.

Humane stated that AI Pin is powered by a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, but did not reveal the name of this processor. The device comes with a 13 MP camera. It can take photos with this camera. The company says video support will be added soon. It can also connect to Bluetooth devices.

One of the interesting features of AI Pin, which works with a voice command system, is that it is activated manually. In other words, this product does not listen to the user unless the user presses the buttons. You don't need to think "Is it listening to our conversations?" when the device is on your lapel. In addition, even though this product does not have a built-in screen, it provides an important advantage with its laser sensor. When the user places their hand in front of the device, the image will be projected onto their palm. In other words, the device will turn your palm into a screen with its built-in projector. Sounds crazy, right? You will be able to control the projected image by moving your hand and fingers. But let's just say that Humane's main goal is to eliminate the whole interface situation and offer a device that you can use without a screen. The tech giant wants these functions to be performed by talking to the AI Pin or by different ways of touching, such as swiping, double-pressing, etc. AI Pin, as we said before, acts as a voice assistant in general. We can say that it is almost a wearable language model with artificial intelligence support. You can ask it any question you want, and it responds like a chat bot. For example, you can learn how much protein a food you hold in your hand has by asking AI Pin. The software, which the company calls AI Mic, connects the device to different artificial intelligence models. Leaks had said that the device was powered by OpenAI's GPT-4 model. Humane also announced that both Microsoft and OpenAI were used. He added that ChatGPT is one of the main features of the device.
