In the Syrian provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Hasakah, attacks were organized against the bases where US forces are stationed.

The US military base at Harab Jir airfield in Hasakah and its base at Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor were reportedly attacked with surface-to-surface weapons.

While it is not known whether there were casualties in the attacks, security measures have been increased around the bases. Iranian-backed groups occasionally attack US bases on the east bank of the Euphrates River with rockets and UCAVs.

On October 19, Iranian state television broadcast a report on how Israel could be attacked by its regional allies if it does not stop its attacks on Gaza. The video showed on a map that Israel would be simultaneously targeted by Hezbollah from the north, militias in Iraq and Syria from the east, and the Houthis in Yemen from the south with missiles and drones.

Iran has repeatedly called for a halt to Israel's attacks on Gaza at the highest level. In a speech on October 17, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that the "forces of resistance" would mobilize if Israel's attacks continued.

Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian also warned on October 19 that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict could spread to the region.

Iran refers to Lebanese Hezbollah, the militias it supports in Syria and Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen as "resistance forces".
