Tech giant Microsoft has inadvertently revealed plans to integrate a crypto wallet into its popular Xbox gaming console, according to leaked internal documents published last week on the Resetera gaming forum.

According to a report by The Verge, the documents in the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) lawsuit against Microsoft, which seeks to block the company's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, include correspondence between Xbox executives detailing plans for a new diskless Xbox Series X, a gyro controller, and a next-generation hybrid Xbox to be released in 2028.
The documents also included an Xbox roadmap dated May 2022 detailing plans to integrate a cryptocurrency wallet into the next version of the console.
The leak has been described as "the biggest leak in Xbox history" because such emails are not usually released publicly.
