Vinegar is not only used for cleaning. It also softens the structure of towels. It renews its texture. So how do hardened towels return to their original state? Here are the details... Even the softest towels can harden like sandpaper after a few months. Improper washing and drying are among the reasons for the hardening of towels. If you do not want to use chemical softeners to soften towels, there are also natural solutions to this issue. You can make hardened towels soft with the methods below.

FILL THE MACHINE WITH TOWELS Collect towels and washcloths of similar colors and load them into the washing machine. Do not overfill the washer because the towels need room to move in the washing machine drum.

CHOOSE WATER TEMPERATURE AND CYCLE Select warm or hot water to remove the build-up of body dirt, detergent and fabric softener causing the problem. Set the program to normal wash.

ADD DISTILLED WHITE VINEGAR AND WASH AS USUAL If you have automatic detergent and fabric softener dispensers pre-loaded, deactivate them for this wash. Do not add any detergent or fabric softener.

Instead, add two cups of distilled white vinegar to the washer drum. The vinegar will help remove any residue left on the towels that causes them to become stiff.
