Look what China and the US have agreed on!

For the first time, China and the United States have come together in a joint commitment to reduce methane and other non-carbon dioxide gases, some of which are 80 times more harmful than carbon dioxide, the United Arab Emirates Minister of Industry and Technology told a press conference at COP28.

This unprecedented agreement, coupled with a series of other positive environmental outcomes, has led to important developments, including the commitment of a large number of countries to make financial contributions. In this context, John Kerry, the US special envoy for climate, reported that China and the United States have reached important climate agreements and conventions.

The remarks came after Kerry's meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xie Zhenhua last month, in which he said that the agreements reached between the two countries during COP28 will contribute significantly to progress on climate.
