Teddy, who lives in Oxfordshire, England, started a campaign against an emoji representing glasses wearers. Teddy wants Apple to change the design of this emoji, which Apple calls "nerd" and has two canine teeth wearing black-rimmed glasses, to "Genius Emoji".

Teddy's initiative started when he found it offensive to people because it made people wearing glasses look like "nerds". In an interview with the BBC, Teddy said, "It makes me sad and angry. I think thousands of people around the world will find it offensive, just like me."

HE STARTED A CAMPAIGN The campaign, supported by his teacher Lisa Baillie, has collected 387 signatures so far. Supporters of the petition have expressed their desire for Teddy's proposed "Genius Emoji" to become a reality, while others have commented in favor of the idea. "I find (the emoji) insulting and offensive to people who wear glasses," Teddy wrote in the petition, calling on Apple to change the emoji to "Genius Emoji" and accept his design. Teddy's proposed emoji design is similar to the original, but features a closed smile instead of rabbit teeth. Teddy says it would be "incredible and exciting" for Apple to adopt his ideas if these changes materialize.

HE NOTICED IT WHILE TEXTING WITH HIS COUSIN Teddy said he decided to launch his campaign after noticing this disturbing emoji while texting with his little cousin. He said he was worried that people wearing glasses would feel like rabbits or mice for the first time because of this emoji. MESSAGES OF SUPPORT POURED IN One user commenting on Teddy's campaign said, "Me and my son wear glasses. Ditching the teeth and branding 'Genius'! I'm proud to be part of the glasses-wearing community. I'd vote for you for PM." Another user said, "If he finds it uncomfortable, then it really is. This is very important. When I was his age, when kids wore glasses, they were called all sorts of horrible things. This should be changed. I fully support her," another user commented.
