Russia has fined the popular search engine Google $51 million for failing to remove images containing false information about its actions in the Ukraine war.

The case against Google was heard at the Taganskiy Regional Court in the capital Moscow.

The Russian military fined Google 4 billion 611 million rubles, or about $51 million, for failing to remove disinformation about its actions in Ukraine.

GOOGLE WAS FINED AGAIN LAST MONTH Last November, Google was fined 15 million rubles, or about 164 thousand dollars, for refusing to store Russian users' data on servers in Russia. The company's Russian subsidiary also initiated bankruptcy proceedings last year for failing to fulfill its financial obligations.
