A Su-22 fighter jet reportedly crashed in Iran's southern Fars province. According to Iranian state television, the Su-22-type military aircraft crashed near Lake Perishan in Kazerun province.

It was stated that the pilot landed safely using the ejection seat system and there was no loss of life. No further details about the incident were given.

On the other hand, the semi-official Tesnim News Agency shared the information that the downed plane belonged to the Revolutionary Guards Air Force.

The Su-17, a configuration of the Su-22 aircraft developed by the Russian Sukhoi company, is actively used by Iran. In September 2022, a Su-22 fighter jet crashed in Hormuzgan province in the south of the country due to a technical malfunction.
