Check the tuna in your fridge! 11 tons of cocaine hidden in tuna fish seized!

It was reported that about 11 tons of cocaine hidden in frozen tuna fish boxes were seized in operations in the ports of Vigo in northern Spain and Valencia in the east.

In a statement made by the Spanish National Police, it was stated that "about 11 tons of cocaine" was found in containers brought from Latin America by sea to be distributed in Europe under the leadership of a criminal organization of Balkan origin.

In the operations carried out jointly by the National Police and the Financial Police, 7.5 tons of cocaine were found hidden in containers arriving at the port of Vigo and 3.4 tons of cocaine in Valencia, hidden in frozen tuna cans.

It was announced that a total of 20 people were arrested in the operations, 15 of them in Valencia, and 15 of them were citizens of Albania, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Spain.

It was informed that the drugs prepared in Colombia were brought to Spain in containers via Ecuador and left abandoned in the ports of Valencia and Vigo for a month as a strategy of the criminal organization.

Authorities announced that this was the narcotics operation in which the highest amount of drugs were seized in the country in recent times.
